


2019 Family Gardening Class
Come get your hands in the dirt!
Interested in learning about the wonders of sustainable gardening in a supportive, hands-on and community-based environment?
The Family Gardening Class is designed for families with children under the age of 8 with little to no previous gardening experience. Supplies such as seeds, seedlings, fertilizer, gloves and hand tools are provided. All class participants will work side by side gardening in a raised bed 4 feet by 36 feet.
Wednesdays 3:30pm - 4:30pm
OR
Saturdays 9am - 10am
Families can sign up for spring, early summer and/or late summer sessions. Discount available to ParentTalk members.

$75/Session or $200.00 for entire season

Spring Session: May 4 - June 29

Spring harvest will yield pea shoots, radishes, spinach, lettuce, leafy greens

Spring planting will include tomatoes, peppers, carrots, beans, and more
Summer Session: July 6 - August 31

Summer harvest will yield carrots, beets, tomatoes, peppers, herbs and more

Summer activities will include pruning, fertilizing, and planting for fall
Fall Session: September 7 - October 26

Fall harvest will yield winter squash, cabbage, eggplant, spinach, lettuce, leafy greens

Fall activities will include cleaning up your garden and preparing for the winter

Class Scholarships
Scholarships are available for Needham Housing Authority residents and Needham Community Council Food Pantry shoppers.
